TORIC IOLMonofocal Lens/ Astigmatism-Correcting
These advanced technology lenses are designed to correct both cataracts and astigmatism at the time of surgery, for clear distance vision without the need of glasses. However, you will still need glasses for reading.
There is a $1100 fee + a shipping fee charged at the surgery center in addition to the normal surgery fees. This lens is considered cosmetic by all insurance therefor will not be covered.
ReSTOR IOLMultifocal Lens
Most IOLs can only correct vision at one distance, these advanced technology lenses correct vision near, far and in- between, for your best chance at freedom from glasses.
There is a $2000 lens fee + a shipping fee charged at the surgery center in addition to the normal surgery fees. This lens is considered cosmetic by all insurance therefor will not be covered.
Standard IOLMonofocal Lens
Typically covered by insurance or Medicare, these trusted lenses provide clear distance vision. However, you will likely still need glasses for reading and possibly for distance vision, particularly eyes with astigmatism.
Costs of SurgeryThe surgery consists of three separate costs, one being the fees for Dr. Goulas and possibly advanced lenses. Another separate cost goes to the Surgery Center for the shipping fees of the lens and use of the facility. The last fee will go to the anesthesiologist who assisted in the surgery.
